What Are Copart Fees?
Copart is the world's largest online vehicle auction company, specializing in salvage, used, and clean-title vehicles. When you win a vehicle at a Copart auction, you pay the winning bid plus various fees that can significantly increase the total cost.
• Buyer Premium: 18% (member) or varies by price tier
• Gate/Storage Fee: $59-79
• Environmental Fee: $10-15
• Title Processing: $75-100
• Internet Bid Fee: $119 (if bidding online)
Buyer Premium Tiers
Copart charges a tiered buyer premium based on the winning bid amount. For member buyers: bids up to $99.99 incur a $1 fee, $100-$499.99 incur $49, and higher bids typically incur 18% of the winning price. Non-member rates are higher.
Additional Costs
Beyond Copart fees, budget for: transportation (tow truck), repair costs, registration/title transfer, sales tax, and insurance. These can easily double the total investment.

Tips for Copart Buyers
Always inspect vehicles before bidding (or use a third-party inspection service). Research market values, factor in all fees, and set a maximum bid that includes total cost.
